Flower Report for April

April flowers bring May showers??!?! Well, it seems like that’s the case with all the rain that we’ve seen so far this month. The past month saw a few heavy hitting strains in the store as well as fresh new pre-rolls and some new vape cartridges hitting the shelves.

This past month we saw a few new additions to our craft flower roster namely Viola’s AI ’96 Flower, Kronic’s Gorilla Breath, Redecan’s Animal RNTZ (not craft but it’s here), and finally, 1964 bringing us their Organic Gelato #41.

Founded by ex-NBA baller Al Harrington, Viola Cannabis comes out swinging for the fences with their AI ’96 3.5g flower offering. AI ’96 features Grape Stomper genetics and the Secret Kush Mints line bringing a fruit forward profile supported by hits of mint, pine and pepper. Dominant terpenes include terpinolene, myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene and linalool. Coming in just under 30% THC (actual value 29.8%), this flower is a treat for the senses. Visually stunning, the AI ’96 is draped in a thick coating of trichomes. From there, the aroma bouquet takes over and the creamy, berry goodness with hints of sweet spice fills the nose. That gives way to undertones of sweet diesel, fruity tones of grape and apple. Once ground, the sweeter notes come out and the diesel takes a back seat. The complex flavour profile ranges from creamy berries and grape to gassy notes with sweet earthy tones for good measure. As for strength, at 29.8%THC, it goes without saying this flower is strong and packed with terpenes (4.26%!!) making for a deep and immersive experience.

Next up is Kronic’s Gorilla Breath 3.5g flower, a potent hybrid bringing together the Original Glue and OGKB genetic lines. Visually, this flower takes you back to the legacy days with its dense bud structure and frosted appearance. Hues of bright green and purple interlaced with orange pistils and frosty trichomes greet the eye upon cracking open the glass jar. The nose gets its fill of earthy sweet goodness with a creamy background with hints of cheese, and Kush Breath’s slightly nutty tone. The sweeter notes come forward once milled up. I found the flower to have more of the OGKB flavour profile with its sweeter fruit and nutty notes, but not to worry, the Original Glue is no shrinking violet and its earthy flavour notes are definitely present. At 29.9%THC and 2.62% terpenes, the strength of this flower is definitely not in question. A fairly balanced experience can be expected as this flower starts with a strong heady buzz and then settles into a nice relaxing, chilled journey without being overly heavy (read: no couch lock!!). If a strong, great tasting, balanced hybrid is what you’re after, you should consider Kronic’s Gorilla Breath, it won’t disappoint.

The past month saw us bring in some of Redecan’s Animal RNTZ 3.5g flower. Boasting a spicy 33.3%THC, this value offering not only checks the potency box for buyers, but also features some great buds in each jar. A cross of the Animal CKS and RNTZ genetic lines, one can expect densely packed buds with a nice coating of trichomes. Aromas of tart fruit with hints of gassy goodness dominate this wonderfully potent flower. While it may not have the craft designation, the Redecan Animal RNTZ is a solid offering that packs a hard punch and won’t break the bank.

Rounding out April’s new flower offerings, we have the 1964 Organic Gelato #41 flower. This indica dominant flower takes its genetic cues from the revered cross of Sunset Sherbet and a Thin Mint GSC cut. The result is a heavy hitting indica dominant flower that doesn’t produce too much brain fog while providing high levels of chill and relaxation. Not for the faint of heart, this flower comes in at 26.3%THC and 3.53% terpenes with farnesene, trans-caryophyllene and limonene featuring as the top 3 terpenes. The aromas range from sweet herbal notes with hits of fruit and sweet pastry up front, to woodier, earthier notes on the backend. A great strain for the heavy indica fan, 1964’s Gelato #41 is ideal for those looking to relax without sacrificing mental acuity. Smoke some of this before watching Jeopardy, you might not be the quickest to the buzzer, but you’ll have all the answers!

April also saw our infused pre-rolls selection expanding with General Admission’s Electric Green Apple Distillate Infused 3pk, The Jeffrey by Kushkraft Mindfreak Infused 2pk, and the Tenzo Ice Cream Infusion Infused 0.5g pre-roll. And speaking of pre-rolls, we brought back a couple of old favourites from 7Acres, namely their Jack Haze Sativa and Sensi Star 2pk along with their Platinum Kush Breath 2pk. Another newcomer to our menu was the Greenman Acres Organic Mother of Berries 3pk pre-rolls. Whether it’s a supercharged infused pre-roll or something a bit less amped up, The Good Cannabis Company is stocked and ready to help you catch a quick buzz while you’re out and about taking in the sites, sounds and flavours of The Glebe and surrounding areas.

Our vape menu did some growing this past month with new additions from Versus and their Dank Berry, Jungle Juice and Loud Lemon 1g vape cartridges, Fuego’s Peachy Lychee 1g cartridge and some fresh disposable pens from Papa’s Herb Lemon Cherry GLTO 1g as well as the Box Hot Peach OG all in one 1g pen. Both of the 1g disposable pens are rechargeable and wicked tasty! The Versus options are wonderfully consistent and deliver both on value and potency. The Peachy Lychee from Fuego offers up some great flavours with top shelf potency. Whether it’s the privacy, discretion, convenience, efficiency, ease of use or the fun flavours, whatever your reason for reaching for a vape, we’ve got you covered.

Well that about sums up our April. We hope you all had a good month as well and we look forward to seeing you all as spring (hopefully) warms up and gets into full swing!
