Flower Report for February

As we move into the month of March, we look back at February and some great new product releases. Starting with  new offerings from our friends at MTL Cannabis and their Wes’ Coast Kush flower and pre-rolls alongside their Jungle Cake pre-rolls. The MTL Wes’ Coast Kush is a classic OG Kush crossed with an unknown hybrid genetic that is heavy on the myrcene.  Expect sweet, earthy and spicy notes across a light gassy background. These frosty buds are coated in juicy trichomes and pack a heavy punch coming in at 33.8% THC and 4.24% Terpenes. On the sativa end of the spectrum, MTL brings us their Jungl’ Cake pre-rolls, a delightful union of the  White Fire and Wedding Cake strains from which a sativa dominant hybrid was selected. Think sweet, earthy pastry notes with hints of candied fruit and spice. Boasting a solid 33.6% THC, this terpene rich pre-roll is sure to satisfy all comers. Welcome to the Jungle!

We were also introduced to newcomers DISTINKT and their Monaco Octane flower. These guys are really bringing the legacy vibes with their approach and commitment to high quality, small batch, craft cannabis. What I really dig about these guys is their transparency. Every bag of Monaco Octane has a pretty complete breakdown of cannabinoids and terpenes along with other pertinent info that cannasseurs will appreciate. I mean, the 31% THC and 4.27% terpenes don’t hurt either, this stuff is straight gas!

February also marked the return of the Slime Bags from the homies at Ghost Drops. This time the featured strain is their sweet, fruity Z-Splitter hybrid flower. These hefty 14g bags of goodness are coming in at 25.5% THC and 4.31% terpenes so they’re packing a tasty and solid punch. And speaking of 14g bags of flower, 1964 Supply Co.’s Organic Cherry AK has been a hit this month as well. This cherry forward phenotype of the beloved AK-47 strain delivers a strong, balanced hit thanks to its landrace origins and some decent numbers to back it up. Coming in at 28.6% THC and 2.76% Terpenes featuring myrcene, caryophyllene, farnesene and alpha-pinene, the Cherry AK is like a choose your own adventure depending on how much you smoke!

The world of new pre-rolls was bananas this month, literally! Back Forty comes out swinging with their Banana OG Sativa hybrid 10pk pre-rolls. If the higher priced craft cannabis is not your thing, these need to be on your list of must haves! These cigarette style machine rolled joints are convenient, compact and perfect for a quick smoke break to keep things rolling during the day, and at 22.7% THC, they won’t burn you out too badly. Keeping on the plantain theme, we brought in some Eastcann Dirty Banana pre-rolls this month. These indica dominant pre-rolls pack a punch at 30.8% THC and feature limonene, myrcene, linalool and caryophyllene as the dominant terpenes. Translated, these  joints bring fruity notes of banana, kiwi, sweet earth and notes of citrus, with a nice heavy finish at 30.7% THC. Rounding out this segment of “all things banana” and fittingly as the last course, we’ve got the General Admission Banana Kush Distillate infused 1g pre-roll. These joints are packed with quality flower, infused with distillate and then dusted in kif. Imagine taking a banana cream pie, topping it with a banana infused whipped cream, some fresh bananas and a tiny mint wafer for good measure, and rolling THAT into a joint. It’s hard to believe you’re smoking cannabis at all given the very pronounced flavour profile, no subtle flavours here folks. It’s just one plantain packed punch after another, and believe me, at 36.2% THC and 1.61% terpenes it hits hard. With spring around the corner, we’ll see a whole slew of new flower products coming available soon so stay tuned for more product updates, reviews and fun content from us folks here at The Good Cannabis Company.
